Our carpet cleaning process involves using detergent free solutions, which are completely safe to children and pets. Our cleaning process leaves no sticky residue therefore your carpet stays clean far longer. No job is too small.

Firstly, the carpet is thoroughly vacuumed which removes deeply embedded dust and other harmful allergens. Special attention is given to corners and areas around the skirting.

To allow us to choose the correct solution for the job, we test the fibre and stability of the dyes. For wool carpets we use a cleaning solution approved by the “Woolsafe” organisation. The detergent free solution is agitated into the carpet using a machine with contra-rotating brushes. This part of the cleaning process loosens the soil ready for extraction.

The carpet is then rinsed using plain warm water which is applied via high powered jets, the waste being immediately extracted by three powerful vacuums. This ensures the carpet is not overwet.

Most carpets take just one to two hours to dry. This is dependant on many factors, e.g. the level of soil, the type of fibres and atmospheric conditions. Whenever possible, we will assist the drying process with the use of turbo dryers.

Our Upholstery Cleaning Service

Our upholstery cleaning process involves using detergent free solutions which are completely safe to children and pets. Chair Cleaning, Sofa Cleaning, Couch Cleaning, Suite Cleaning, fabric or leather, we have a cleaning process to suit. When in doubt we test the fibre and stability of the dyes which will ensure the correct method of cleaning is utilized.

Firstly, the item is thoroughly vacuumed which removes deeply embedded dust and other harmful allergens. A pre-treatment solution is applied in stages and carefully worked into the fabric. Finally we apply a fresh water rinse which is immediately extracted along with the released soil using three high powered vacuums.

During the upholstery cleaning process, special attention is made not to over wet the fabric. We will also assist the drying process with the use of turbo dryers.

MattVac operate a sspecializedrug cleaning service in and around Glasgow, Paisley and Renfrew in Scotland. In our rug cleaning process we use detergent free solutions, which are completely safe to children and pets.

Rugs tend to be neglected by homeowners when it comes to cleaning. Perhaps its because, unlike carpet, many rugs can be taken to the door and given a good shake. Most rugs are made with wool or wool-rich pile e.g. Oriental, Persian or Turkish as well as Chinese and Indian. As a rule, rugs should be hand cleaned.

Firstly, we identify the fibre and the stability of the dyes which allows us to choose the correct method of cleaning e.g, real silk rugs should only be dry cleaned.

The rug is thoroughly vacuumed to remove deeply embedded dust. For wool, we use a cleaning solution approved by the “Woolsafe” organisation. The cleaning solution is gently worked into the fabric which loosens embedded dirt.

Following the pre-treatment process we rinse using fresh water, the waste being immediately extracted by three powerful vacuums which ensures the rug is not overwet.

It must be allowed to dry thoroughly, not rolled up or placed on a carpet as dye may transfer onto the carpet below. For this reason it is often more practical to take the rug away for cleaning to a place where it can dry safely and thoroughly.

Some tips to help keep your rug looking good :-

Vacuum regularly
Clean spills immediately – blot with a sponge or cloth
Never pull long ends from top of rug – clip even with rug surface
Rotate the rug to prevent uneven wear
Periodic rug cleaning, professional or in home will optimise the life of the rug.
